‘YAELLE’

A Glorious Day for Setting Up!

Friday, December 2nd, 2011

Let me tell you – the Island has never been so excited… There are streams of cars, lorries, trucks, vans and hoards of people peering in the windows en route to Kelham Island Museum to set up for the Viccie Markets… It is a true hive of festive excitement – AND a galloping horse or several has been seen running in circles…

We got decidedly festive last night and erected what can only be described as a true Victorian Christmas installation… Or an alternative Christmas – it may be one for discussion. PLUS you can rest assured Rudolph does have a starring role.

Anyhoo back to biz…Today is the grand set up… Below is what we’ve got going on…

We’re going to be selling some of our architectural salvo and cool household items similar to what you’ll find in The Chimney House itself…Fab chance to enrich your home and your heart with reclaim treasure… Everything for sale will have a tag on it… So keep your spy eyes out!

We have some really cool brands joining us in Sheffield for The Chimney House’s Pop Up Shop – we thought we’d tell you a little more about what and who we have making up the shop. The truth is we’re being pestered left right and centre by eager shoppers (ie users of the The Chimney House this week and last)  wanting the inside scoop on what’s going on… So here’s a sneaky snoopy.

Uber cool and strictly chic British luxe scarf brand YAELLE is joining us on Saturday to bring some ultra fine silk into proceedings…Yaelle’s global wanderings have shown her that life is best captured through experience and this lesson unfolds sensually as a rippling silk scarf unfurls showing intricate hand-drawn illustration detailing and story telling and finished with hand painted watercolours and vibrant rich hues.

Let me tell you I have been wearing my YAELLE scarf all week this week keeping out the chill in style and nothing comes close… it is truly amazing!! PS – Check the new YAELLE site… it’s flippin gorgeous…. esp look at the 2012 page… OMG!!

We’ve also got The Speedy Rodgers Cake Co… Now let me tell you about this… Butterly light and utterly divine they specialise in one particular cake which they will be selling either by the slice or by the cake (we heartily recommend you buy the cake) One slice is never enough – I was lucky enough to be gifted said cake as a taster…And by the end of the day the whole thing had gone – and I might just own up to the fact there was no-one about but me (greedy me). Anyhoo – the cakes and the slices are taste sensations and we know we’re going to sell out FAST!!!! Eeeekkk…

We’ve teamed up with the glorious Moonko to do a 2 day installation in the main room upstairs in The Chimney House. They are the epitome of understated cool -  Everything they do and everyone they represent is done so with pure quality and the lightness and grace of pure passion and expertise. We HEART Moonko on every level from the fabulous artists they represent to the lovely team behind the brand with their pure support and promote ethos.  This is your chance to get your hands on exquisite gifts and art. We say when it’s gone it’s gone… And it’s worth getting here early!! It’s maybe worth a mention that our fav National shop of choice Urban Outfitters HEART Moonko as well…Moonko are currently mixing up the bespoke & beautiful with vintage, which can been seen within the likes of Urban Outfitters Kensington, London and Manchester.

Behind MOONKO is Deb Moon -  an artist on her own right, having exhibited in Kobe Japan, Habitat, Cork Street London with works held in private collections – you’ll be able to meet her both days of the shop – to chat ‘the up and coming art’ (and buy) till your heart’s content.

Now… What can we say about one of our fav brands in the lands of Sheff – Swallows and Damsons. We’d like to say we created The Chimney House just so we could have a delivery of their sublime florals every week… It’s not far from the truth! The Chimney House adores everything about this ultimate in floral love who have been part of the team since we opened. They are opening a Pop Up Flower Shop in The Front Room of The Chimney House… We’ve been desperate to do this since we opened so this is our perfect chance!!

There’s a few more happenings happening so keep glued to The House Blog for more…. And we may divulge a little more news…

Remember we’re open 10am-4pm Sat 3rd and Sun 4th Dec… See you down on the Island for the wondrous Viccie Markets and of course to visit us!
