The Meeting Room at The Chimney House, Sheffield

Tuesday, March 27th, 2012

We’ve been bloggin a lot at the mo about Private Dining at The Chimney House…But of course the fabulous Meeting Room is open for business everyday with an splendid array of Sheffield and UK based businesses and companies checking in daily for conferences, meetings, away days, and of course stacks of training! We’ve got got visitors from all over the UK this week – and we’ve even got guests from Europe hopping over the water in a private plane later in the week!!

We’ve got a Sheffield based co in today – having a board session…So we thought we’d punctuate their meeting with spring blooms and fresh fruit and a naughty block of chocolate or 2…

Our group from The Meeting Room is staying for supper later this evening – a fabulous Yorkshire feast of course… Not before a cool sip of champers out on the cobbles… Now is that the way to do business or what?

It’s been gorgeous down on The Island today… Delighted to see the bull-rushes in the Goit launching fluffy parachutes everywhere…Hope they don’t go in the champers!! Hee hee!

What They Say About The Meeting Room Sheffield

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

We’ve had some really interesting groups in The Chimney House over the last few days using The Meeting Room for training sessions, workshops and away days…We thought we’d share their views on our Sheffield events venue…

Clare Davies – used The Chimney House for a group workshop/training session.
I just wanted to commend you on your excellent training venue and facilities.   I am a freelance trainer, on 15th Feb I was delivering training at the terrific Chimney House venue.I travelled from Manchester, so the joining instructions about how to find the Chimney House were very useful, the taxi journey from the venue to Sheffield train station was 5-7 mins as promised on your instructions.   The training room itself was light and airy, the room was set up with water and glasses on each table for the participants, along with beautiful fresh flowers! I found the room was perfect for small or large group activity work, ideal as we were learning how to run small Focus Groups.  We had plenty of room to move around easily for interactive exercises and then gather together again for presentations.   The atmosphere in the room was  really pleasant, with lots of interesting art work and furniture displayed. A pleasant atmosphere and surroundings is an essential ingredient for an enjoyable training day! The building itself and the training room in particular lends itself to a very positive learning environment, as a trainer this is very much appreciated.   I also have to thank Vic who was brilliant in terms of helping with practical issues throughout the day e.g. setting up projector, flipchart paper, making sure refreshments were available, she was really helpful. On top of all this, lunch was spectacular (compared to many training venues I have delivered at over the years) it was very healthy yet delicious…ideal! I was so impressed with lunch that I took a photo of my plate to show a colleague how great it was!   Thank you, I will certainly be recommending Chimney House as a perfect training venue for Sheffield.

Citu, Leeds – used The Chimney House for a team away day.
The whole team absolutely loved the whole experience. The attention to detail was phenomenal and a it’s a true gem of a venue. The food was also fantastic, so good in fact that we had to cancel our dinner plans as everyone was so well fed! We shall definitely visit again and look forward to the opportunity it do so. Very inspirational and a real example of something done right.

That Spring Time Feeling at The Chimney House, Sheffield

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

It’s gorgeous down on Kelham Island today… Just a haze of tweeting birds, lots of action on the waterways and furious duck activity in the weeds and bullrushes… Fabulous!!

The last 2 days we have had training sessions in The Meeting Room… yesterday we were called ‘The perfect venue for training, one of the best i’ve visited’ by a guest trainer from one of our regulars…Which is obviously mighty fine to be told – and adds towards that Spring time feeling!!

It’s been a really busy week… And is hotting up further as we prepare for one of our fav customers tomorrow…With the unveiling of something rather special…

In fact we’ve purchased some rather lovely roses to celebrate!!!
