‘birthdays’

Seen By The Chimney House. Ooout and abooot in Sheffield

Friday, July 27th, 2012

We’ve been to some really cool happenings in and around Sheffield over the last few days…Here’s pictorial evidence we actually do leave The CH every now and again…

The Island was booming last weekend (these snaps were snapped just after the flock had flown btw) with the peripherals of the mighty Tramlines swinging out on Kelham with The Fat Cat as kooky as usual hosting the smashing Everly Pregnant Brothers nipping up a ladder onto the roof and belting out some choice cuts over the waterways…

Meanwhile over on the other side of the water – prep was prepping for a fabulous 30th and 33 guests arriving for a kitchen supps and EGO box! We LOVE the glittery 30th on this polka cake…YUM!!

Snapped a dusky roof top shot looking down the water..

Swung by  Sheffield Cathedral who was hosting parts of Tramlines which was super cool venue and ambiently gorgeous…We totally loved the way people were knocking back vino and chilling to the tunes…

Loving liberal thinking and vicar/glass collector combo who was balancing pint pots and chatting to us about weddings at the same time…

Next off a foray up onto Dev St and to call into see Collard Manson loveliness for their Warp Music/Bleep Pop Up shindig -  swopping weekly staple pressie resource for glugs of red and some pretty fine projections onto brick…Loving textures and tone…AND some damn fine shadows which always gets a big tick from us.

Bumped into the tres chic Ms Swallows and Damsons who had casually thrown THE most beautiful fleurs together…We WANT for The CH… totally magical like an enchanted forest.

Managed to bag a Summer must have for the Mr as well – an Aim Low + M-ss t shirt…In Japanese script OF COURSE (low neck not high neck either thanks Mr CM.)

Fine lights n tunes were topped off by a show off yellow light in the sub station looking mighty delish…

A tasty Sheffers eve all in all…

We LOVE lunch in The Meeting Room, Sheffield

Monday, February 13th, 2012

We LOVE lunch at The Chimney House... we think about it often…When you think of lunch when you’re out of the office working on away days, training sessions, workshops, conferences, boardroom days – what do you think of?

We think of freshly made cakes… oops… start with savoury items…((!!) We think of freshly baked breads with the finest fillings of meats and Yorkshire cheeses…Paired with crispy salads and drizzled with fine olive oil…

We’re also partial to freshly made sausage rolls straight from the oven and served in succulent slices dipped in local homemade piccalilli.

We’re big champions of indulgent eating – granted – and who can ever resist our dreamy salads of best and tasty veggies….

Naturally we like to pounce straight onto dessert…But we are showing restraint and sitting all demure waiting our turn…

Who could possibly wait long for these??

Or this…

And let’s take another look at this…

So you see… WE LOVE LUNCH!!!!!

Stay tuned for our new food shots of The Pop Up Dining Hall for ultra cool private dining

The ultimate Sheffield venue (we think!!) for private dining, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and hens who want chic and gorgeous!

Kind Recommendations and the Joy of Community Spirit!

Wednesday, February 8th, 2012

It never fails to amaze me how The Chimney House draws such a wide variety of people together and the means in which they find us.

We have guests traveling from all over the UK to use our Sheffield venue as well as those who travel globally for their meetings, conferences and events. As well as the people who use us a little closer to home…

Recommendations play a big part in our business – and we’re very proud of the testimonials that our guests give us. It often happens where guests who use The Meeting Room recommend their friends and family and colleagues to use our Private Dining Hall and visa versa… Sometimes guests arrive in the early morning and work in The Meeting Room and morph into The Pop Up Dining Hall for supper and carry on their business or just put their feet up and relax after a hard day’s work!

This week we’ve received many bookings which have been based around kind recommendations – so thank you to everyone who has taken the time to pass on our details to people looking for a Sheffield venue!

We’ve also been touched this week with the level of community spirit and neighbourly vibes… We’ve met quite a few of our fellow residents on Kelham Island – people booking meetings,  hen parties, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings with us all who are close by to The Chimney House – and the lovely situation where people are bumping into people they know  at The Chimney House when they are on their show-around or visit. It makes for a ‘nice warm being part of the community’ feeling!

Needless to say the tea-pot is always on the boil and we’ve really enjoyed swooping stories and planning beautiful events for some really special people this week…We’re so excited for all of your events!

Components of Fabulous Feasting!

Friday, May 27th, 2011

Question… What constitutes fabulous feasting?

Well… you’ve got to have a lot of people… for say a birthday, wedding reception, celebration – at least 40-60…and a cool building to put them all in…

You’ve got to have great piles of amazing food…

A fabulous mixer of cocktails…

A super chic ambiance

And you’ll be getting close…

Each Pop Up Dining Hall event at The Chimney House is created bespoke (with various levels of kookiness!!) for each happy couple (as was the case with these snaps) (Huge congrats John and Nel and love and best wishes for the future!) We create menus, environment, we style tailormade pleasure to give fabulous results and tip top service.
