‘93ft’

93ft Representing Yorkshire for Interior Design in the Northern Design Awards 2012

Sunday, November 4th, 2012

Our rescuers, restorers and creators -  93ft have been announced as the only Yorkshire finalists in the Northern Design Awards 2012. Here come the deets!

Shortlisted out of hundreds 93ft accompany four other design houses from the North of England for the prestigious title of ‘Interior Design Practice of the Year’.

93ft are regarded by the industry as specialists in presenting bespoke turnkey design which pushes past ‘just’ interior design and incorporates ID and Brand to accompany interior solutions that gives their clients the platforms they need to develop and improve their business.

Based in Sheffield but working all over the UK and into Europe 93ft led by owner Tim Hubbard, 93ft work with brands who are willing to use interior design as a way to improve their business prospects and to elevate their brand to a level which reflects products they sell, environment or the ethos in which they run their day to day.

Hubbard comments ‘Many of of our clients are working to tight budgets and even tighter time scale. A new interior often means closing  – and the inevitable loss of trading time. We not only design bespoke but direct and project manage to ensure our clients open as fast as possible but with exceptionally high standard results, to be recognised for this in this economic climate is not only reassuring but immensely pleasing.’

93ft’s trademark for both residential and commercial schemes is the use of reclaim and salvage materials which have been rescued, restored and applied into architectural interiors. Hubbard comments ‘using reclaim isn’t always the easiest way – but the results of historic woods and antique leathers, materials with meaning and heritage make all the difference to us and our clients.’

Judges responsible for drawing up the shortlist for The Northern Design Awards include Sir Terence Conran and Livingetc’s editor, Suzanne Imre, Linda Barker and Wayne Hemingway MBE.

Wayne Hemingway MBE is hosting the ‘must attend’ Awards ceremony in Manchester on the 30th November 2012.

The Chimney House Inspiration:PRINCIPE, Forte Dei Marmi

Wednesday, March 21st, 2012

We’re big lovers of interpretations of style and are interested in boutique elements that defy the norm…I guess that’s what we base our own businesses, The Chimney House, LARK and 93ft on. We’re always on the look out for brands and co’s who shake the sublime and present a true picture of how they perceive perfection – be it through design or service or a combination of elements.

Rolling up at a hotel like the Principe and hopping off a ‘baguette’ bike (beach cruiser/shopper) looking slightly disheveled after racing said bikes with high jinx through the streets of Forte Dei Marmi and down the promenades over looking the sea you sort of wonder what their reaction would be especially as you oggle their own array of  particularly pristine ‘baguette’ bikes…

Reassuringly their own description of the hotel experience reads as  ‘Our boutique size combines finest architecture and ultimate lifestyle experience, aimed at granting few selected guests with addictive experience and uncompromising scent of luxury.’

Happily the ‘few select guests’ included us – so we lightly hopped in the lift and wizzed up to ’67′ the only Sky Lounge in the region to encounter lashings of b&b Italia and a sublime sights of mountains and ocean in equal perfect measures.

We found the Principe to be a top inspiration tip – basking in the evening Tuscan sun and looking beautiful with it – obviously it has uber super style and a keen elegance but the friendless of the team and their willingness to chat about product and the hotel and its meaning was tip top. Really impressed by Nicola who gave top recommendations and unbiased approach to products.

The freshest Rossini… Served in the sunset…

Basking in the evening sun…

Peek down at the pool from up on ’67′

Nicola with a touch of product placement…Brugal Blanco

Divine local beer….G.Menabreaefigli…150yrs in the making

Views out over the sea…

These are of course only doc snaps… For true appreciation of the beautiful Principe with their glorious images - i’d highly recommend looking at their site

Today at The Chimney House, we’re prepping ourselves for a fab weekend of high octane cycling adventures…! Our team La Squadra/Nonnas has teamed up with Rapha to bring you a unique weekend of cycling culture, Giro coverage and gentleman’s (and ladies of course) riding & social.

The Rapha crew are in Sheffield especially,  along with their Mobile Cycle Club, and a Rapha Condor Sharp pro team rider or two.

Also a chance to purchase a fabulously designed (by 93ft) ‘hot t’  – which is on sale at Nonnas over the weekend from £15…

Here’s the low down for the two days…

Saturday 28th May

Riders rendezvous at Nonnas, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield at 9am before heading out to the Peak District at 9:30am for a steady 50 mile there and back. At a secret mid-way location the Rapha Mobile Cycle Club will be supplying fuel in the form of coffees and cakes. The ride will continue en-mass and wend its way back to Sheffield, eventually finishing back in Nonnas, Ecclesall Road at approximately 1pm.

Here’s the ride route – http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/34662434.
The ride can also be found of Rapha’s Rendevous iPhone app

Once returned all riders will have the opportunity to watch on big screen the stage of that day’s Giro d’Italia live on Italian satellite.

Food and drinks will be available, and Nonnas will be providing free pasta to all riders. Drinks will be chargeable.

The Rapha crew will be milling around should you want a chat, and the Mobile Cycle Club will be packed with new season apparel and will be parked on-street should you want to indulge in a spot of retail therapy.

Sunday 29th May

The format of day will be similar to Saturday 29th, but the rendezvous time at Nonnas, Sheffield this time being 10am. Another 50 mile circular ride’s planned, but the route today will be different to the previous. Another mid-way stop is planned where the Rapha Mobile Cycle Club will supply the sustenance. A steady ride back to Sheffield will ensue, and the arrival point will again be Nonnas, Ecclesall Road at approximately 2pm.

Here’s the ride route – http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/34663306.
The ride can also be found of Rapha’s Rendevous iPhone app

The final stage of the Giro will be screened live in the bar area, and food & drinks will be in plentiful supply (same free pasta for riders).

Rapha’s Mobile Cycle Club will be back and ready to swap hard earned cash for some of the most stylish cycling product going.

General Info

The two weekend rides are open to La Squadra members and non-members alike. There’s no cost to ride.

Just remember if you’ve not renewed your membership you’ll miss out on a free coffee !!!

Both post-ride events are free of charge and open to everyone, so feel free to invite family & friends along to soak up the atmosphere…who knows, they might even buy you a spanking new piece of Rapha kit!

We’re super excited about this weekend, and feel privileged to be running it in conjunction with Rapha. Hope to see you on one, if not both of the days.
